Harmonise your mind and body

Massage Approach image
I follow a holistic and intuitive approach in my massages to connect mind to body using a variety of techniques with a listening therapeutic touch. My aim through massage is to guide you to a deeper state of relaxation, helping to settle the mind so that you can become sensitive to the levels of tension and relaxation in your body.  Once you can feel embodied with a relaxed mind the tension can be released with better ease. I believe that your role in connecting to your body is just as important as mine in facilitating lasting improvements.

The techniques may include guided relaxations, Myofascial Release, Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage techniques, hot stones, mobilisations and stretching, Trigger Point Work and Acupressure depending on your needs, to bring the mind and body into better harmony and balance.
(I have separated some treatments on the page below for reference, however most of my treatments follow this combined approach guided by what we feel you need on the day).

Qigong Wellness Exercise classes

This class is suited to those who would like to increase their sense of wellbeing through gentle exercise. For all ages and abilities, the slow and graceful movement sequences, synchronised with the breath, helps to bring about a sense of balance and harmony to the mind and body. It works to improve posture, mobility, coordination and balance, as well as ability to relax. With practice, this exercise can help you to feel more centred, energised and calm in your every day life. £5 trial class, £8 drop in (Please contact Natalie for further details)

Private Qigong Sessions (2 people)

A one hour session for two people. These can be booked more flexibly. The structure of the class tailors exercises to your specific aims/needs giving you a chance to focus on areas you'd like to improve and also deepen your practice. Along with the warming up and movement sequences, sessions can include a combination of guided relaxations, meditations and breathing exercises, stretching, posture and alignment work and exercises to improve balance, coordination and mind-body connection. These classes are £15 per person for 1 hour.

Community Qigong classes

Group sessions for community based settings. The classes can work to maintain fitness in people of all ages and abilities, particularly useful for people wishing to maintain mobility and increase health through gentle exercise. The classes can also be very helpful for groups with stress, depression or anxiety issues. They bring about a sense of inner calm and relaxedness as well as increasing mobility and reducing tension in the body. £40 per hour session.

Rebalance yourself

Natalie's aim is to help you feel more comfortable and at ease in your body. She uses a combination of massage techniques and is also intuitive in her approach to help decrease your pain and improve mobility. Her treatments often encourage awareness of the mind-body connection, which she believes is a major key to wellness and healing. Natalie listens closely to ensure that each session is tailored to your needs. Suggestions for self-care are offered as a part of your treatment plan to help place your wellness progression back into your own hands.

Natalie became interested in the mind-body connection and its positive effect on health and wellbeing whilst studying Contemporary Dance at Trinity Laban dance school. This understanding was further opened up through following her interest in the Eastern philosophies on health, and studying Chinese Medicine and Qigong. She completed a Foundation Degree in Complementary Healthcare at Brighton University in 2015 and went on to work as a Massage Therapist. Since then she continues to build on her knowledge and training to help assist others in gaining more awareness and motivation for their own health and wellness goals.

Additional training includes:
- Primary Certificate in Health & Wellbeing coaching at the Centre For Coaching, London (helping people to reach health goals, and understanding the blockages around them)
- Advanced clinical massage in Myofascial Release work at The Jing Institute in Brighton. (this enables effective healing and realignment of the connective tissues for a variety of pain issues).
- Qigong Instructor (Chinese Yoga) Qi Gong Teacher Training at The Shiatsu College, London. (an ancient healing art form, that is increasingly gaining popularity in the West as a form of exercise).
- Manual Lymphatic Drainage at the London School of Massage (can help ease chronic pain, boost the immune system and reduce fluid retention).
- CPD courses in Orthopaedic Assessment and Massage, Chair Massage, Hot Stone Massage.

I had my first session with Natalie and was so grateful AiR had offered me this treatment. I have had plantar fasciitis in my foot for 5 months now and it's been giving me agony. After Natalie massaged my poorly foot yesterday, it feels the best its been for ages and I'm actually walking about this morning without too much pain. Another success and an overjoyed customer!
